How to update the firmware of your HD DVD Player from an update disc

Applicable Models: HD-E1, HD-EP10, HD-XE1.

IMPORTANT:

DO NOT UNPLUG,TURN OFF, OR USE ANY OTHER FEATURE OF YOUR PLAYER DURING THE FIRMWARE UPDATE PROCESS – DURING FIRMWARE UPDATE, NO MESSAGE OR NO IMAGE WILL APPEAR ON YOUR TV SCREEN.Disconnecting the player’s power during the update process will cause the writing of the firmware update to the player to be halted and the player may no longer operate properly. If the player stops working, please contact Toshiba Customer Solutions at 13 30 70.

1. Turn on the player.
2. Load the update disc into the player.
3. A message will appear and the firmware update will automatically start.
   
4. When the firmware update is complete:
   
   
   • For HD-E1 & HD-EP10 playesr , the player will automatically turn itself off.
     
     
   • For HD-XE1 players:
     
     
   1. The player will automatically turn itself off. Power on the player again
   2. The player will display a message that another update is ready to start
   3. Read the message and press OK. The message will disappear and the second firmware update will automatically start. Please be patient during this process. (During the update, “VERUP” flashes on the display of the player.)
      
   4. When the firmware update is complete, the player will automatically turn itself off.
      
      
5. Now you can experience the new performance of the software update. Please refer to the update notes on Toshiba’s website www.toshibaav.com.au/service for details.
